About Invest Know
We build free, India-specific financial calculators — modelled on the real rules behind each product, not a simplified shortcut — and we're upfront here about who makes them, how we check them, and how the site pays for itself.
Our Mission
Most financial calculators available online use one generic formula and apply it to every product, regardless of the real rules that govern it. A PPF account doesn't compound the way a plain compound-interest formula suggests. NPS doesn't let you withdraw the same percentage tax-free that you can withdraw in total. An LIC endowment plan's bonus isn't a fixed percentage of premium. Invest Know exists because these details change the answer, and Indian investors deserve a calculator that gets them right rather than one that's merely fast.
Our mission is simple: build the most accurate, free, easy-to-understand financial calculators available for Indian investors, in both English and Hindi, and be transparent about exactly how each one works so you can trust the number it gives you.
Our Story
The work behind Invest Know began nearly two years ago, as a smaller collection of calculators on an earlier domain, built by an independent developer working alone on evenings and weekends. That version grew a loyal readership, but it also carried the limitations of a first attempt — some calculators used simplified formulas, coverage was uneven, and there was no dedicated Hindi experience.
In 2026, we made the decision to rebuild the entire platform from the ground up on investknow.in, with a sharper focus purely on financial calculators — no unrelated content, no distraction. Every calculator you see on this site today has been re-researched against current official rules, re-verified formula by formula, and re-tested across desktop, tablet, and mobile, rather than simply carried over from the earlier version. We see this as a long-term project: new calculators are added based on real search demand, and existing ones are revisited whenever the underlying rate or rule changes.
Who's Behind Invest Know
Invest Know is run by a small, independent editorial and development team based in India. We are not a bank, a mutual fund house, an insurance company, a stockbroker, or a SEBI-registered investment adviser, and nothing on this site should be read as coming from one. What we bring instead is hands-on experience: years of self-taught work in web development, search engine optimisation, and Indian personal-finance research, combined with a habit of checking every number against the primary source — the RBI circular, the SEBI framework, the PFRDA notification, or the official scheme document — rather than a summary of a summary.
We keep the team small and focused deliberately. A large editorial team invites inconsistency; a small, accountable one lets us apply the exact same verification standard to every single calculator on this site, from the SIP Calculator to the newest NPS vs Unified Pension Scheme comparison tool.
How We Build and Verify Every Calculator
Every calculator on Invest Know goes through the same four-step process before it's allowed to go live:
- Research the real rule. We start from the official source — India Post's PPF and SSY notifications, PFRDA circulars for NPS, IRDAI's published rate cards for insurance, SEBI's charge structures for trading, and the Income Tax Department's current slabs — rather than assuming a simplified version is "close enough."
- Build and independently verify the formula. Each calculation engine is checked against hand-computed or independently coded reference figures before it's connected to the on-page interface, including edge cases like proportionate pension eligibility, withdrawal caps, and tax-exemption limits that most calculators skip entirely.
- Test across real devices. Every calculator is checked on desktop, tablet, and mobile screen sizes, including things like table overflow and touch-target size, before publishing — a genuinely mobile-broken calculator is a genuinely wrong calculator for the majority of our visitors.
- Revisit when the rule changes. Interest rates on PPF, SSY, and KVP are reset quarterly by the Ministry of Finance; income tax slabs change with the Union Budget; NPS and pension rules have shifted meaningfully in 2024-2026. When a rule changes, we update the affected calculator directly instead of leaving old figures live.
Our Commitment to E-E-A-T
Experience
Nearly two years of building and maintaining Indian financial calculators, including the lessons learned from an earlier version of this site, inform how every new calculator on Invest Know is built.
Expertise
Every calculator is built around the specific, sometimes overlooked rule that governs that product, verified against the regulator's own published rate cards and formulas rather than a generic template.
Authoritativeness
We explicitly name the correct regulator for each product — RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, PFRDA, EPFO, or the Ministry of Finance — instead of defaulting to "RBI or SEBI" the way many generic finance sites do.
Trustworthiness
No login, no data collection, no hidden calculations. Every number you enter stays in your browser, our editorial process is described openly on this page, and we welcome correction requests.
Which Regulators Our Calculators Cover
Because Invest Know spans savings schemes, insurance, pensions, and market products, no single regulator governs everything on this site — and we think it matters that we say so plainly rather than citing "RBI and SEBI" as a catch-all.
| Regulator / Authority | What It Covers on Invest Know |
|---|---|
| RBI (Reserve Bank of India) | Bank fixed deposits and the SBI-style Annuity Deposit Scheme |
| SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) | Mutual funds, SIPs, stock trading, and broker charges |
| IRDAI (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority) | LIC term and endowment insurance plans |
| PFRDA (Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority) | The National Pension System (NPS) |
| EPFO (Employees' Provident Fund Organisation) | EPF, EPS, and CTC-to-in-hand-salary calculations |
| Ministry of Finance / India Post | PPF, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Kisan Vikas Patra, and the Unified Pension Scheme |
| Income Tax Department | Tax slabs and deductions used across salary, NPS, and pension calculators |
How Invest Know Makes Money
We are not paid by any bank, broker, insurer, or fund house to feature them, rank them favourably, or recommend them, and we do not accept payment to alter a calculator's output or its guide content. Where a specific product is named — a broker in the brokerage comparison, or an insurer in the LIC calculators — it's because that product is the real, publicly-documented subject of the calculator, not a paid placement.
Your Data, and Why We Don't Need It
Every calculation on Invest Know runs entirely inside your own browser using JavaScript. When you type your salary, your SIP amount, or your NPS contribution into a calculator, that number is never sent to our servers, logged, or shared with anyone — because we simply have no server-side process that receives it. You can use every calculator on this site anonymously, without an account, and close the tab afterward knowing nothing was recorded. For the fuller picture of what we do collect (such as anonymous analytics) and why, see our Privacy Policy.
What We Are Not
To be direct about it: Invest Know is not a SEBI-registered investment adviser, not a chartered accountant's practice, not an insurance broker, and not a bank. Nothing on this site is personalised financial, investment, tax, or legal advice — every calculator and guide is educational, built to help you understand how a number is arrived at, not to tell you what to do with your money. For advice specific to your situation, please consult a qualified, licensed professional. See our full Disclaimer for the complete terms.
Corrections and Feedback
We check every calculator against official sources before publishing, but rates change, rules get amended mid-year, and mistakes are possible. If you find a figure that looks wrong, or a rule that's changed since we last checked, please tell us exactly which calculator and which number through our Contact Us page. We investigate every report and correct the live calculator when it's warranted — we would rather fix an error quickly than leave it live because no one told us.
